Acupuncture is a system of healing which has been practised in China and Japan for over 3000 years. Although often associated with a treatment for pain relief, acupuncture can be used to treat many common health complaints.
Acupuncture is recognised by the World Health Organisation in treating a wide range of health conditions, relieving pain and promoting good health. Acupuncture helps the body release endorphins (the body’s natural painkillers), relaxing muscle spasms, re-balancing hormones, reduces inflammation and stimulates the body’s healing response.
The National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) recommends Acupuncture as an effective treatment for lower back, osteoarthritis of the knee, to enhance fertility and for the relief of migraines.
